Dr. Gabriel Cesar Examines Connection of Teen Fatherhood & Suicidality
Most research on adolescent parenthood has focused heavily on the challenges faced by adolescent mothers while rarely examining the adverse effects of parenthood for adolescent fathers. A new study co-authored by assistant professor Gabriel T Cesar, PhD, assistant professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, along with several other professors from the University of Mississippi, explores how adolescent fatherhood can lead to suicide. The article, entitled “‘You are the Father’: Investigating the Relationship Between Adolescent Fatherhood and Suicide Attempt’ was published in Youth & Society.
