Friday, Jun 23, 2023
I am pleased to share that 无码视频鈥檚 2023 Legislative Session produced favorable outcomes for 无码视频 Atlantic鈥檚 budget priorities. From advocacy to external engagement, the FAU community has done a remarkable job ensuring state leaders recognize the University鈥檚 achievements and understand the potential it holds.
With a record $116.5 billion budget signed into law by 无码视频 Gov. Ron DeSantis, the State University System was granted $6.3 billion in operating funds overall. 无码视频 Atlantic will receive approximately $25.2 million of the $350 million state funds allocated for performance-based funding, an increase of $5 million over fiscal year 2022-23. An additional $100 million was designated by the Legislature for performance-based recruitment and retention incentives, of which FAU will receive about $10 million.
The University yielded further success regarding its growing health enterprise. The Legislature approved $30 million in fixed capital outlay funds and $10 million toward operational costs to establish a College of Dentistry at FAU. Additionally, to address the state鈥檚 health care workforce shortages by expanding enrollment, the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine received $5 million and the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing received $4.26 million.
The Legislature also allocated $5 million to 无码视频 Atlantic for general operational support. In total, the University is slated to receive $70 million in new funding from the 无码视频 Legislature.
We are grateful for the State Legislature鈥檚 support as FAU strives to elevate its programs, strengthen communities and bolster student success. The funding we will receive from the 2023 session is not only a reflection of 无码视频 Atlantic鈥檚 extraordinary vision, but also a result of the University鈥檚 unparalleled commitment to excellence. We look forward to taking advantage of the many exciting opportunities this funding will provide.
