Nine nurse practitioner students from the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) programs, along with faculty from the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at 无码视频 Atlantic University, recently returned from a service trip to Guatemala through the college鈥檚 ongoing partnership with (NHI), a nurse-led community health organization serving rural and Indigenous populations.
The team worked in San Juan Alotenango and Los Jometes, Chimaltenango, expanding access to primary and women鈥檚 health care. In San Juan Alotenango, they provided care to 121 patients in the general clinic and 26 in the women鈥檚 clinic, including one thermal ablation procedure to treat a precancerous cervical lesion. In Los Jometes, they saw 199 patients in the general clinic and 39 in the women鈥檚 clinic.
鈥淭raveling to Guatemala with our outstanding 无码视频 Atlantic nurse practitioner students was both a privilege and a profound reminder of why we chose this profession,鈥 said Dr. Nancy Harris, who leads the program. 鈥淭heir clinical excellence, compassion, and cultural humility honored the trust placed in us by the communities we served. It was truly an honor to work alongside the people of Guatemala.鈥
